Design Philosophy
We believe that interior design is the meeting point between architecture and human emotion.
A successful space is not defined by luxury alone, but by how it makes people feel. Natural light, balanced proportions, honest materials, thoughtful circulation, and carefully considered details all contribute to creating environments that promote comfort, clarity, and well-being.
Our goal is to design spaces that feel calm, purposeful, and deeply personal—spaces that support everyday life while inspiring those who experience them.
Future Vision
Rare Design Studio aims to become a leading name in contemporary interior architecture across the Middle East by delivering thoughtful, innovative, and timeless design solutions.
Our vision is to continue exploring the relationship between architecture, sustainability, craftsmanship, and human experience while creating interiors that positively impact the way people live.
Interior Design Studio Interview
1. What inspired you to start your interior design studio, and how has your design philosophy evolved over the years?
Rare Design Studio was founded on the belief that interior architecture has the power to transform lives. A well-designed space influences how people think, feel, interact, and experience their daily routines. What began as a passion for creating beautiful interiors has evolved into a philosophy centered on designing meaningful environments.
Today, every project is approached through three essential principles: architectural integrity, functional excellence, and emotional connection. We strive to create spaces that are timeless, balanced, and deeply connected to the people who inhabit them.
2. Every project is unique. How do you understand a client’s lifestyle and translate it into a functional and beautiful space?
Every project begins with listening. Before discussing materials or aesthetics, we take time to understand our clients—their routines, habits, aspirations, and the way they interact with their spaces.
These insights become the foundation of our design process. Through careful space planning, natural lighting strategies, material selection, and thoughtful detailing, we create interiors that reflect each client’s personality while supporting their daily lifestyle. Beauty naturally emerges when functionality is carefully considered.
3. What are the three biggest mistakes homeowners make when designing or renovating their homes, and how can they avoid them?
One common mistake is prioritizing trends over personal lifestyle. While trends change, a home should remain relevant to the people who live in it.
Another mistake is underestimating the importance of space planning. Good circulation, proportions, and functionality are the foundation of every successful interior.
Finally, many homeowners focus on selecting finishes before establishing a clear design concept. We encourage clients to begin with a strong architectural vision so that every design decision contributes to one cohesive and timeless result.
4. Which interior design trends do you believe will remain timeless, and which current trends do you think are just temporary?
Timeless interiors are built upon strong architectural principles rather than temporary aesthetics. Natural stone, solid wood, handcrafted materials, layered lighting, neutral palettes, and honest craftsmanship will always remain relevant because they create spaces with lasting character.
On the other hand, overly decorative interiors, trend-driven colour palettes, and designs created primarily for social media often lose their appeal over time. We believe that authenticity will always outlast fashion.
5. How do you balance aesthetics, functionality, and budget while creating spaces that truly reflect your clients’ personalities?
We approach every project by identifying priorities. Rather than distributing the budget evenly, we invest in the elements that create the greatest long-term value, such as architectural planning, quality materials, lighting, and craftsmanship.
Luxury is not defined by cost but by thoughtful design decisions. By carefully balancing beauty, practicality, and investment, we create interiors that feel refined, functional, and uniquely personal.
6. Can you share one project that challenged you the most? What obstacles did you face, and what did you learn from the experience?
One of our most rewarding projects involved transforming a compact residential space into a calm and spacious home despite significant structural limitations. The challenge required careful planning to maximize natural light, improve circulation, and integrate custom storage without compromising aesthetics.
This experience reinforced our belief that successful design is not determined by the size of a space but by the intelligence of its planning. Constraints often inspire the most creative architectural solutions.
7. What advice would you give to someone planning to design or renovate their home for the first time? What should they prioritize before getting started?
Before thinking about colors, furniture, or finishes, think about how you want your home to support your life. Consider your daily routines, your lifestyle, and the atmosphere you want to experience every day.
Invest in good planning, quality materials, and timeless architectural solutions. A beautiful home is not one that follows trends—it is one that continues to feel comfortable, functional, and inspiring for many years to come.
Closing Statement
At Rare Design Studio, we believe that great interior architecture goes beyond aesthetics. It is about creating spaces that inspire, restore, and enrich everyday life. Every project is an opportunity to design an environment where beauty, functionality, and human experience exist in perfect harmony.
